  • Salinity test strips measure the chloride ion (Cl-1) present in solution from 0-1,000 ppm Cl. This strip can be used to educate students on the difference between “fresh” and “salt” water. It can also be useful in explaining the concepts of freezing point depression and boiling point elevation. In applications where the salt content is high the sample will require dilution with deionized water before running the test. In these cases, the test result will need to be corrected by using a dilution factor to arrive at the final result.
  • Sodium benzoate test paper detects the genetic ability to taste Sodium Benzoate. The taste detected varies from sweet, salty, to bitter, depending upon the individual. Homozygous-dominant and Heterozygous-dominant individuals will detect the molecule.
  • Thiourea test paper test for the genetic capability to detect Thiourea. For other taste tests, see our PTC and Sodium Benzoate test paper.
  • The Multiple Urine Test Strip is used for the detection of Glucose, Protein, Ketones and acidity/alkalinity in education. Although the Multiple Urine test strip is determined strictly for use in an educational environment and cannot be used in the medical field, the units of measurement are the same as would be found on the diagnostic test strips used in medical practice. The Multiple Urine test strip is suitable for education and training students in all levels of medical and clinical-biochemical educational programs.
  • Our Cobalt Chloride test paper detects the presence of moisture. This test paper is useful in difficult to reach places and recesses. Cobalt chloride test paper is responsive to 50% relative humidity and above, and any direct measure of an aqueous solution. Cobalt Chloride test paper is also available in 8” x 10” (200x250mm) sheets (or larger sizes if special-ordered). Larger sheets allow for identification of spray or leak patterns when left in enclosed spaces. Please call for details on special orders as minimum quantities do apply.
  • The Phenolphthalein test paper is sensitive to Ammonia Vapors, and thus is used to detect Ammonia leaks, for example, in refrigerators or air conditioners. Phenolphthalein detects Ammonia in solution from 3 – 5ppm. The test strip will turn a pinkish color if Ammonia is detected.
